Since its inception in 1985, arcenciel’s mission in Lebanon has been to promote diversity, integration and development through 5 core programs: Agriculture & Environment, Mobility & Health, Responsible Tourism, Youth Empowerment, and Social Support.
Following this tragedy, arcenciel is doubling its efforts to pursue its mission in supporting fragile groups and integrating marginalized people.

Beit El Baraka
Lebanon has a growing population of marginalized senior citizens who can no longer fend for themselves. Unless supported by other family members, many depend solely on meager pension plans, if any at all, and have very limited access to health care. They often struggle to obtain basic grocery items and may also live in dilapidated homes, sometimes with no running water or electricity. In November 2018, Beit El Baraka, a Lebanese non-profit NGO, was launched so that the most vulnerable can get the assistance needed to live in dignity. Dar Al Amal
Dar Al Amal (DAA) supports without any discrimination children at risk. They are compromised by their family condition, which means that they mostly belong to very poor and dislocated families. Therefore DAA supports the members of their families and their communities as well. Furthermore DAA supports young girls and women in situations of violence, mistreatment, exploitation, prostitution, marginalization, and/or in conflict with the law. DAA works with them to strengthen their self-esteem, create their identity, acquire skills, and least to empower and integrate them into society.

Embrace
Embrace seeks to better inform the community about mental illness, break the stigma, provide support to those affected, and help foster a resilient and emotionally healthy community which cares for the mental wellbeing of its young and old (founded in 2013). They launched the Embrace Lifeline – the national emotional support and suicide prevention helpline in Lebanon.

Food Blessed
Food Blessed is a hunger relief initiative in Lebanon (founded in 2012). They work with strategic partners – including food and non-food companies – through recovering surplus food from events, organizing food drives, and fundraiser events to collect food (which includes surplus perishable food and non-perishable food items) and distribute it to local non-profit partners in need.

Himaya
“Child abuse is a critical issue that has long been neglected in Lebanon. A study conducted in 2008 showed that 1 out of 6 children in Lebanon is a victim of a form of sexual violence.
In light of these alarming results, Himaya was founded in 2008 and has continued to grow, responding to child protection needs on a national level. The dedicated & multidisciplinary team of professionals covers all Lebanese territory with offices in Mount Lebanon, South Lebanon, North Lebanon, and the Bekaa; ensuring accessible services to children across Lebanon.
In order to achieve its mission, himaya works with children as well as their families and the environment as a whole. himaya strives for a radical change on a national level in order to improve the lives of children in Lebanon.”

Noor Trust
The Noor Trust is an umbrella charity organisation that was established in the UK in 2001. Its main subsidiaries include the Noor Orphans Fund, the Al-Huda and An-Noor Arabic schools and Noor Youth, but it has also supported many other religious and educational projects since its inception, such as camps, trips and educational programmes.

Oum El Nour
Oum el Nour was born 30 years ago, from their will to win a friend back from drugs. It started as a grassroots initiative, but grew into a home for those who need sheltering, fostering and understanding. A place away from noise, pressure and judgment. A place to recover, look back and learn, to reconnect with oneself, before reconnecting with others. They continue today supported by the belief that saving one person from addiction can also mean saving a child, a parent, a sibling, a colleague or a fellow citizen. In other words, saving one of us. Their addiction prevention programs and rehabilitation programs are offered free of charge regardless of socio- economics, ethnicity, gender, nationality or religion.

SOS Villages d’Enfants
SOS Children’s Villages Lebanon is a non-governmental non-profit social development National Association and a member of the International Federation of SOS Children’s Villages (SOS CV) which is an umbrella organization for 135 national SOS CV associations in the world among them are 9 Arab countries. We are part of the world’s largest practitioner movement for supporting the right of the children who are deprived of parental care or at risk of losing it by providing them with family-based care and preventing child abandonment through our Family Strengthening Program (FSP). These 2 programs complement each other to take care of vulnerable less fortunate children.

Teach A Child provides access to education for underprivileged students across Lebanon, by covering all the expenses related to their education. Established in 2011, Teach a Child supports today 1333 students with 107 students in universities and 154 students in vocational institutions.
